Robotics Club Goes Virtual

Because of the coronavirus pandemic, we haven’t been able to host our in-person club nights. We really miss seeing everyone, so we set up virtual sessions. We hope this has been a good resource for our club members, and we will continue to host these every other Wednesday. If you’re interested in joining us, please sign up here and we’ll add you to our e-mail list. (Along with information about club session, we love to share resources and fun links in our emails.)

Here’s a recap of each virtual session to date:

Follow Along Drone Build
Chris walked us through how to build a racing drone based on the Tmotor Yema racing Frame, talked a bit about the hobby and shared tips and tricks for soldering and putting it together.

Drone Photography 101
Chris gave a Drone photography lesson using our DJI Inspire 2 “SnotBot” drone. The footage from the drone was live streamed and Chris demonstrated how to change aperture, shutter speed, video and still camera settings.

Intro to E-sewing
Alicia hosted a virtual session on an intro to e-sewing—using conductive thread to connect LilyPad electronic components together.

SnotShot!
Chris demonstrated SnotShot and explained ShotShot’s history and an overview of how it was built to and how to program it using Arduino.
